Our innovative drone spraying is especially ideal for controlling large or difficult to access areas of Serrated Tussock and invasive weed species like gorse and artichoke thistle for long term control.

We cover more area per day, with less herbicides and overspray than helicopter spraying.

Take control of your land again and maximise your productivity with quick and easy drone Serrated Tussock spraying.

Why Choose Us?

Eliminate serrated tussock long-term drone spraying

Field Master Systems spray drones are the most precise, fastest and safest way to eliminate serrated tussock long-term. We effectively target the whole serrated tussock infestation using cutting-edge drone technology, killing the whole plant and preventing their seeds from spreading.

Control serrated tussock over the long term

Precisely kill the whole plant and seeds in one go for all for peace of mind and long-term serrated tussock management.

Remove serrated tussock quicker to access your land faster

Cover large areas of land quicker so less time is spent spraying the serrated tussock and faster access to land.

Target hectares of serrated tussock infestation and difficult to reach terrain

Spray a larger size and any type of terrain and size of serrated tussock, so no infestation is too big or land too hard to get to.

Save money on Flupropanate by only spraying where it’s needed

Reduce spraying costs by precisely targeting serrated tussock using the latest spray drone technology.

We bring everything needed - from the drones, herbicides and expertise

We take care of the entire process for you and bring everything we need to make it easy and straightforward for you.

Meet our Weed Experts

Drone Spraying for serrated tussock is precise, cost efficient and fast.

Drone spraying for invasive serrated tussock is ideal if:

You’re looking for a long-term solution to control serrated tussock in Melbourne, and rural and regional Victoria.

Serrated tussock has built up over large swathes of land, reducing the usability and productivity of your land.

Your serrated tussock infestation is in difficult to access terrain, such as rocky, steep and uneven land.

You want a safer and cheaper solution for your land and animals without unnecessary use of herbicides.

Drone Spraying Vs Other Methods

Whilst there are alternative solutions to treating serrated tussock, drone spraying for serrated tussock is the most precise, fastest and safest option to treat large scale serrated tussock infestations long term.

Method
Effectiveness
Speed
Access
Safety

FMS Drone Spraying
Precision-targeted drone spraying.
Kills the root for long-term control.
Fastest method.
Reaches difficult terrain with pinpoint accuracy.
No direct chemical contact.
Most cost-effective long-term solution.
Helicopter Spraying
Aerial herbicide application.
Covers large areas if done fully.
Fast, rapid treatment.
Less precise in hard-to-reach spots.
No direct chemical contact.
Expensive, best for big areas.
Ground Spray Rig
Vehicle-mounted or handheld sprayers.
Misses unreachable sections.
Faster than manual but less precise than aerial methods.
Limited in difficult terrain.
May require extra chemicals.
Cost-effective if accessible.
Cut & Paint Method
Hand-cutting and spraying.
Effective for small areas.
Very slow, manual process.
Only for easy-access areas.
High chemical exposure.
Labour-intensive and slow.
Burning
Use of fire to destroy established plants and seeds.
Burns tussock and pasture seeds, allowing regrowth.
Very fast
Hard to control fire in challenging terrain.
No herbicides used, but risk of fire going out of control.
Low cost but high risk.

FAQ

Discover answers to common queries about our drone services and solutions. Explore how our expertise can benefit your projects and operations.

Can you supply the herbicides necessary for serrated tussock spraying?

Yes, we make things as easy as possible for our customers, and we can supply all of the required herbicides you’ll need to treat your serrated tussock at wholesale rates.

Do you also offer ground spraying services for serrated tussock?

Yes, we use a hybrid approach that is suited to your specific needs. Often properties will require a combination of drone spraying and ground spraying to ensure that all areas are fully covered.

When’s the best time of year to spray serrated tussock in Victoria?

It’s recommended to spray serrated tussock between February and October in Victoria. Ideally it is treated before seeding to reduce the chances of it spreading further. More information can be found on the Ag Vic website.

Do you advise on the right herbicides to use for controlling serrated tussock?

Yes, our team all have deep agricultural backgrounds and we work as your trusted advisors to deal with invasive weeds on your farm. A very common herbicide for the control of Serrated Tussock is Flupropanate. We guide and advise on methods, herbicides and approach before commencing work.

Does serrated tussock grow back after drone spraying?

Drone spraying of serrated tussock is a precise method which targets the serrated tussock plant, eliminating the majority of the serrated tussock long-term. Due to serrated tussock seeds being able to survive for up to 15 years, it’s likely that followup treatment will be required for severe infestations, the same as traditional methods.

How does drone spraying compare to traditional methods, such as boom spraying with ground spray rigs?

Vehicle boom spraying can be an effective option for serrated tussock when access is easy. However unless you have an advanced boom spray rig, the application rate (measured in litres per hectare) cannot be accurately tracked. This can either cause underspraying leading to chemical resistance and a less than total kill, or overspraying leading to damage to pasture or native grasses and higher than necessary herbicide costs. Drone spraying is very precise, only spraying where needed and at exactly the right rate, saving both time and money.

Is there much of a difference between drone and helicopter spraying for weed control?

Our customers who have used helicopter spraying in the past have told us that drone spraying leads to significant reductions in herbicide costs, as well as less overspray and damage to native vegetation. This is due to the fact that drones fly much closer to the ground, and have a narrower boom width capable of better targeting individual plants.
